Soul Cook
How to play Soul Cook
- Friends join the same table code. The host can add or remove computer chefs and choose who goes first in the lobby. Once two to four people and computers are ready, the host starts. Each player receives 4 ingredient cards, 2 recipe cards and 1 Shopping card in their own hand. To offset going first, later chefs get extra ingredients: +1/+2 for the second and third chef with three players, +1/+1/+2 from the second chef with four.
- On your first turn, pick 2 ingredients from the market; in a two-chef game the first chef picks 1. On later turns, draw 2 cards from the deck or choose 1 market ingredient.
- Select one recipe card and its required ingredients from your hand, then play them at the table. Egg fried rice needs its recipe card plus rice, egg and onion cards. With enough recipe and ingredient cards, cook multiple dishes in the same turn.
- Play as many special cards as you hold in a turn. Shopping gives 2 extra market picks. Secret spice replaces 1 missing ingredient in a dish. Play Exchange with one of your ingredients to choose 1 market card.
- End your turn to pass play to the next chef. Online human turns last 60 seconds and pass automatically when time runs out. Solo play has no timer. The first chef to complete 3 dishes wins immediately.
Can friends and computers play at the same table?
Yes. In the lobby the host uses Add computer on an open seat and Remove computer on a CPU seat. People and computers share a maximum of four seats, such as two friends and two computers. The lineup is fixed during play and can be changed again in the next-round lobby. Computers are ready automatically and use only their own hand and the public market.
Can I play alone?
Choose Play solo to face one to three computer chefs on this device. Solo play requires no server connection and uses its own browser save.
How long do online turns last?
Human turns last 60 seconds on the server. At the deadline the turn passes without taking any remaining actions. After three consecutive timeouts, turns are skipped until that person acts again. Computers act automatically on their own turns; solo play has no timer.
How do I play with friends?
Enter a name and create a table or join with an invite code. No account is required. Two to four players join on their own devices, get ready, and wait for the host to start.
Can the host remove a participant?
Yes. Only the host can remove another person from the lobby or through Manage friends in the game menu. Removing someone frees their seat in the lobby and counts as a departure during play. The same browser cannot rejoin that table.
Can other players see my hand?
Only you can see the ingredient, recipe and special cards in your hand. Other players see your card count. Market ingredients and cards played at the table are visible to everyone.
When can I use special cards?
You start with 1 Shopping card and may draw more special cards from the deck. You can play several in one turn. Play Secret spice together with a recipe and its ingredients, or Exchange together with one ingredient.
Can a recipe need the same ingredient twice?
Yes. Rolled omelette needs 2 egg cards and 1 carrot card. Select a separate card for each required ingredient. Secret spice replaces only one missing card.
How many dishes do I need to win?
Be the first player to complete 3 dishes to win immediately. With the required recipe and ingredient cards, you can complete multiple dishes in one turn.
Can I return after refreshing the page?
Progress is saved on the server. Return with the table code in the same browser while its cookie is retained. Tables expire after 24 hours without an action. Choosing Leave table from the menu prevents you from rejoining a started match.
How do member rankings and records work?
Guests can still play. Games with computers are excluded from competitive rankings and marked as friendly in member history. Competitive tables have no computers and require everyone to sign in before creating or joining, use distinct accounts, and finish by cooking three dishes without any departure. The server settles the record once inside its existing finish transaction, with no extra result-submission request. UTC monthly wins are separated by tables of 2, 3 or 4; win rate is supplementary. Competitive credit is limited to 3 games with the same opponent and 10 ranked wins per winner over the last 24 hours. Excluded member games remain distinguished as friendly or departure results in your own table history. Others see only nicknames and competitive records.
